how to study?

i am a young chinese boy, my english is poor. i don't know why we chinese boys and girls have to learn english in school. meanwhile all kinds of test have to test foreign language. now for a better job ,i begin to learn Japanese, It is so difficult ,i can't remember any words.
i am in puzzle.
